I think the Luton Science Fair will let me and my colleagues show a good sized audience of the general public what we do in terms of cancer research. We’ll have a stall in which people can look at different types of cancer cells under microscopes – including cells from Henrietta Lacks, and it will give me and my science division colleagues a chance to chat about our research. But I am also hoping that the Luton Science Fair will have a wider appeal, as not all people want to know about cancer research but may get excited about how science is used in pscyhology, media, dance or sports, for example, and so the fair has the chance to encourage people to think of science in a positive and/or different way that they may not have done before.
