The most important thing I have discovered in my work- see the photograph under the “my typical day” heading. I discovered that when I make my plastics the way I do, they order themselves into beautiful layers like an onion (but really really small, 1000 times smaller than a real onion!). I have made these structures from a a number of different polymers, all with different properties. I now want to see if they could each be used for different things, and if so, what! What would you do with thousands of tiny onions?!
