I don’t think Triple Science existed when I was doing GCSE’s (it wasn’t that long ago, in 1997), but you could either do single sciences or double award, I did double award. I worked pretty hard, and I liked writing the experiment reports, and ended up getting AA. I know that in my mocks, I got the lowest AA grade in the year, so I think I was pretty lucky to scrape in.
The Biology lab report writing was really good experience for me in studying Psychology, we had to write lab reports in my first year at university, and it was useful to have some experience of that.
I did double science rather than triple science (they didn’t offer triple science at my Seniors school). I ended up getting A*A* in my GCSEs – although I’m not quite sure how, as I thought all of my exams didn’t go well! A lot of people from my year got lower grades than that and are now doing science at Uni or as a job, so if you work hard and want to achieve, you can do anything you want.
