We think we will need to vaccinate patients in remission when their immune system (including T cells) are healthy. We think that vaccines every week, every 2 weeks or every month for at least 6 months will be necessary. We have to make sure we do it often enough and we are not allowed to experiment on patients (really) so it will take time to be sure we are giving the right dose at the right time. To help do this we have been working on an assay system to look at T cell numbers in cancer patients at different times during treatment (and in the future when the patients are being vaccinated) to see how the T cells are responding to the treatment.
