• Question: do yuo think there is intelligent life in the universe apart from us?

      Not in our Universe – but outside it – why not? If there are the right conditions……. who knows?

      I have just been to a talk by someone who researches the origins of life on earth, and I think that she gave some pretty convincing evidence that it’s definitely possible for there to be other life in the universe, but whether it’s something that we would consider ‘intelligent’ is probably less likely.

      I think to think that there is, that would be really cool – and why not, all the conditions that made earth ok for intelligent life to develop happened once, so why not again? I just don’t think we’ll ever find out.

      I think that there is definitely some other form of life out there, but not necessarily intelligent. This is one of those great science questions that can be talked about at length with no conclusion!

      There are mathematicians and astronomers who have calculated the probability that there is life out there in the universe, though different groups seem to disagree with each other.
